More about Kate
-
My love for art and design began before I can remember. I spent most of my youth and into high school taking various workshops and art classes, developing strong fine arts skills and learning the basic principles of design. I was fortunate to have incredible art educators who encouraged me to continue pursuing what I loved.
I went on to study interior design at OSU, and spent about a decade working for commercial architecture firms, where I gained invaluable experience that informs every decision I make as a photographer today. I’ve spent many hours working on 3D models, grinding on a CD set, visiting sites during CA, and writing out punch lists — I know what it’s like to be on the other side. Although I’m not doing much design work these days, that mindset never fades.
Today, everything I’ve learned in the industry comes through in my photography. As an architectural photographer, I have the opportunity to see inspiring buildings and spaces up close, and tell the story of each project through exceptionally challenging, yet rewarding work.
